The future years did not look too golden for little Nettles when her momperson died and she was brought to the Charles Smithgall Humane Society because there was no one else to look after her.
She was full of hookworms, was struggling with untreated diabetes and a urinary tract infection.  Nettles' medical treatments began to rally her body and the sparkle began to return to her eyes as the Humane Society staff and volunteers showed her kindness and affection.
The chances for her adoption looked slim because of her age and the need for twice daily insulin shots but then someone looked beyond all that and discovered a little treasure of a dog. She now lives in Demorest with a family that includes two doggie friends. click photos below for bigger pics
