In 2015 Shadow - now Ella - was seen alongside a busy highway, panting and staggering under the weight of an advanced pregnancy. She came into the shelter, which was not equipped to handle what was expected to be a large litter. With the financial help of supporters, Ella went to our servicing clinic where she soon delivered 9 fat, healthy, gorgeous puppies. She and her babies spent 8 weeks under the care of the clinic made possible by donations of a caring community. Each pup was safely placed into the most amazing families, where they continue to live surrounded in love.(Pictures show Ella in the first 2, then some of her puppies in their adopted homes!) Ella's wait for her happily ever after was much longer than that of her pups. But one day, the people appeared who would forever change her life and would love her forever. Shadow was renamed Ella and went home Dec. 2015. She is living the dream doggy life with so much love and attention!
The 2nd part of this story is that shortly after Ella's adoption, her parents adopted another shelter resident named Olivia. Though the family was happy to have 2 - and only 2 - girls, they would go on to rescue a boxer mix found close to death on the side of a road. They nursed him back to health and 2 became 3. We are grateful for the good people of our community who make the world a better place for discarded animals. Pictured in photo are Olivia, Toby and Ella (aka Shadow).
