Charlie's face reflected the despair he felt at being left behind by his family when brought to the shelter in February. For an aging boy who at 10 1/2 years old, no longer was surrounded by everything familiar to him, the transition was traumatic and Charlie struggled. Though his plight elicited much sympathy, only one couple stepped forward to offer the peaceful home and family that was so desperately needed by the devastated little boy. With each day, Charlie is acclimating to his new surroundings and to the people who encourage him to snuggle with them on the couch, and turn belly up for much enjoyed tummy rubs. His doggie smiles and wagging tail are indications to his new family that he would like to stay.
