Hooch Has a New Name and a New Home
February 22nd, 2017 1:06 am

Update Video for Hooch, now known as Millie:
Five days ago, Hooch started her day as she had started every day for the past year, sitting in a concrete run, hoping someone would walk her or let her play in the yard for some leg stretching time. Then by noon on Adoption Day, 'Hooch' was renamed 'Millie' and was sitting among her new family members on a long road trip home to Ohio. In these few short days since beginning her new life, Millie has a new bestie dog friend named Sasha & 5 kitty friends... not to mention a human family of 4 who have turned her world around. She is still working...

Ally (Allie) Loves Life at Home
February 21st, 2017 10:48 pm

Allie's mom shares a view of her new and evolving family life. Allie is the pretty bulldog with facial nerve paralysis who waited for over two years for someone to want her. Allie gives back through boundless love and devoted protection of her family.
From Ally's Adopted Mom:
"Someone has become a very good guard dog ( protecting us from the neighbors when they arrive home) and we hit a milestone, she was finally calm enough to curl up on the couch without destroying everything in her path".
She is receiving the love and patience she needed, and we are so happy for her!

Milo Meets His Brother Mickey Again!
February 21st, 2017 1:21 am

Milo had a double dose of happiness when he found himself not only leaving the shelter with loving parents, but also joining his already adopted brother Mickey (Lemmy) in his new home. Lemmy will now have a partner with which he can face those circling kitties, who might want to take advantage of a lone puppy needing someone to cover his backside. Life is very good!! New Adoptive Parents sent us photos of the happy boys passed out from an intense play session.  We love repeat adoptions, and we love reuniting siblings, so thanks, Waid family, from our Adoption Center for Milo and Lemmy, too!

Little Opie Finds Big Love
February 21st, 2017 12:36 am

Our happy wiggle-butt Opie was in nonstop motion once he realized that he was about to go home. The blurry mass of excitement was doing his best to cover his mom's face in kisses before starting the journey home to Charleston SC. We couldn't be happier for this little guy.  We especially love follow-ups, and his new mom, Kim Allen, sent us updated pictures and had this to say about her new furbaby: "I'm Opie's mom! He and I are so happy that we found each other! He is filled with nothing but pure love. I will be forever thankful for finding him. I also decided to change his name to Henry."  ...

Maddelyn Is Loving Her New Life
February 20th, 2017 7:45 pm
Update-Maddelyn formerly Molly
Two years ago Maddelyn was a sad puppy who was feeling lost without her sister, who had been adopted 3 weeks prior. It was difficult to lose her sibling source of comfort, having just lost the security of her mother and other siblings. But the sun came out for this forlorn girl when comforting arms took her home to begin her happily ever after. She is a treasured family member whose parents love their "angel". We do love happy stories of our alumni!
