Charlie Has a New Family!

Charlie's face reflected the despair he felt at being left behind by his family when brought to the shelter in February. For an aging boy who at 10 1/2 years old, no longer was surrounded by everything familiar to him, the transition was traumatic and Charlie struggled. Though his plight elicited much sympathy, only one couple stepped forward to offer the peaceful home and family that was so desperately needed by the devastated little boy. Zander Adoption Update

Zander is a very large shaggy Giant Schnauzer came to us in Oct 2016 after a home remodel and impending baby caused him to lose his home. In very short time his Facebook post was seen by a family in Jefferson who knew in their hearts that Zander belonged in their family. Many changes have occurred in Zander's life in the 5 months since he left us. He accompanies his papa to work every day and when home, he enjoys playtime with children and the resident 140 lb. Bernese Mountain Dog. He has begun outreach work at the library in their Paws to Read program, which allows dogs to be the listener...

Lucky Gets Lucky!

Lucky had the good fortune last Spring of being rescued from a busy road, when he was barely able to walk and still of nursing age. He thrived with a foster mom and siblings, all of which moved on to adoptive homes, leaving Lucky feeling down on his luck. The handsome boy's long wait came to an end today as he finally went to his adopted home! Lucky will live in Clarkesville where he will be the focus of undivided attention as an "only cat".

These girls came in 2 months apart last summer as tiny kittens and have grown up together in the kitten room. Having been playmates and cuddle buddies for most of their lives, it is an especially joyous adoption when beginning the next chapter with a friend.  We are so happy for them!
 
Violet Finds a Furever Home

Violet was heartbroken the day she was relinquished from the home in which she grew up. Every day she waited and watched the many visitors, wondering each day, if this would be the day that people who would want her. Violet went home last week and her new parents are overjoyed with their family addition. According to her mom, she is everything that anyone could ever want in a dog.

At the Adoption Center, we love it when new adoptive families keep in touch with us and show us pics of their loving pets.  Violet apparently joined a household of cats, and doesn't seem to mind it at all!  On...
