Hudson & Merrylegs Hit the Jackpot Home!
April 5th, 2017 9:42 pm

We love it when there are duo adoptions in a family!
A very sweet newlywed couple visited our Adoption Center and found a sweet puppy named Karma, who had come in from Animal Control with her brother Kenny. They fell in love and Karma was adopted and renamed MerryLegs. They were a happy family, except they felt MerryLegs would love a companion.  They visited the shelter again, where their mom volunteered, and met Chocko - a sweet, brown pit bull mix that was loved by everyone at the shelter.  He was found on someone's porch and never claimed, so brought to the Adoption Center....

Little Sadie Has a Big Life!
April 5th, 2017 4:52 pm

Sadie's new family is in love with their new girl.  Here's what they have to say about her:
"Just wanted to give an update on Sadie, formerly Honey. She went to the vet last week and everything is looking good, she is growing like a weed, and eats like a pig. She is the sweetest little girl and the typical puppy. J We are still working on house training, but we’ll get there. She loves playing with my parents' dogs, going on walks, and sleeping in the bed right next to me. Thank y’all again for letting me adopt this sweet puppy. Attached are some recent pictures of Sadie... a couple from...

Happy Harley Living the Good Life!
April 5th, 2017 3:54 pm

Harley started out as Bandit at an Animal Control, then came to us and was renamed Henry.  A wonderful, local family adopted Henry and he will now spend the rest of his life at Harley!  He is a goofy, sweet, fun, huge guy with beautiful blue eyes, and loves everyone.  Even with all that, he was a little nervous in his new home for a couple weeks, but after that, settled in very nicely. It is a testament to new adoptive parents to give your new family member a little time to adjust... Patience, love and understanding makes a good pet become great!  Harley loves his cat sibling, his human br...

Phoebe Goes Home All the Way to Connecticut!
April 5th, 2017 3:33 pm

Phoebe was a transfer from a neighboring county's Animal Control.  She was sweet and beautiful but scared and nippy, and a volunteer took on the task of socializing her.  She worked with Phoebe repetiviely and Phoebe's personality began to come up.  It took a couple months, but she warmed up to not only people, but other pets.  A fabulous couple saw Phoebe online and their heart melted.  They drove all the way from Connecticut to Georgia to find their girl!  Phoebe has learned she loves snow, being by her new daddy's side on the sofa, and her new friend, their grandson, whom she gives k...

Sisters Cindy & Ellie Get Hope - and Love - Again!
April 5th, 2017 11:22 am

Scared sisters Cindy and Ellie were found living in a vehicle, the result of a drug bust.  They were scared beyond belief of people, but you could see sweetness in their eyes.  Both shepherd mixes, they bad beautiful merled eyes and were both gorgeous.
Our shelter staff started working with both of them, keeping them together for awhile, then slowly separating them as they began to have a little trust.  This is the best thing to do when adopting them together is almost impossible.  Various volunteers would take Cindy and Ellie out hiking and for rides.  One took Cindy home to foster for a...
