The Charles Smithgall Humane Society is a nonprofit, 501(c 3 organization. We aer a membership corporation, and rely 100% on donations, including membership! By being a member, you are entitled to vote for your Board of Directors, and cast your vote for bylaw and other corporate changes.* Annual Members Meeting is in spring, and you will be notified in advance of this and any other special meetings.
All members will receive a wallet sized membership card.
(*A copy of our bylaws is always on file at our Humane Society for your viewing).

How Can I Donate?
We get asked that question a lot, so thought we'd list some of the ways here. Not only can you give money, but items are a big help, whether for use in our shelter, or to sell at our biannual yard sales. We also need businesses to donate their services; see the Friends & Pet Partnerships to see how we'll help your business if you help ours! Want to be an Angel for the Animals?

By being a Guardian Angel, you choose a dog kennel, puppy pen, or cat/kitten cage, and sponsor all the pets that reside there for a year. For $101*, you can be an Angel for the animals! For $501*, you can be an Archangel! You will receive a certificate, and one is posted on your kennel/cage for a year. Choose to honor someone, or have a memorial for someone - people or pets - on your certificate!

Your empty printer cartridges bring cash for the Shelter Pets! Charles Smithgall Humane Society is now a member of the Office Depot Recycling Rewards Program. Under the program, we can redeem ANY brand used printer cartridges and receive $3 credit per cartridge for up to 20 cartridges a month!
