Featured Canine
McKenzie

McKenzie is a Ridgeback-Terrier mix about 1 1/2 yrs. old.  She's a bit timid around other dogs but is relaxing somewhat - may just need time.  Both McKenzie and Matoska are current on shots.

About Our Adoption Center
Our Adoption Center has wonderful volunteers who keep things running smoothly. The manager, Kathi Torpy, keeps up with all the administrative things that go on in our humane society, as well as help out visitors. Dennis Clines is our Treasurer, working on our books and keeping everything up to date!  Chris Owens is our kennel & maintenance manager, and Jenny Mann is in charge of our cat room. Our staff and volunteers are all wonderful people with big hearts, and they work tirelessly to make our Adoption Center pleasant, not only for our animals, but our visitors, too! We’ve long been known for having a very clean facility, and work very hard to keep it that way. But we want it to be a fun place, too!

When you stop by, be sure to say Hi to Otis and Layla -- Our resident office managers!

 $5.50 toward heartworm test ^

$10.00 toward feline leukemia test ^

* Georgia Law requires that your cat or dog have a rabies shot. If the pet already has a rabies shot, we will have a tag for you.  If not, you will get it from your vet; just take your adoption certificate with you, & the vet will give you the tag.

** Most of our Adoption Center animals will already be spayed or neutered, but younger puppies, kittens, and some adults that recently came into the shelter will not be fixed.

Because we do not have a veterinarian on site, we will give you a certificate to present to your vet for the surgery.  We have a list of local vets that accept this certificate as full payment for the surgery, but if you choose to use your own and they charge more, you will be responsible for the difference. Some vets will charge additional fees for pain medication after the surgery.  Speak to your vet about their policies.  If there are any questions, call the Humane Society, or speak to your veterinarian.

^ Optional partial test costs (heartworm test for dogs or feline leukemia test for cats) are included in adoption price.
