Message spaying and neutering was posted by susan collins, on 1/3/2010 6:08:20 PM.

I feel very frustrated that there doesn't seem to be much of a push toward spaying and neutering the pets of White County. This is the deciding factor in bringing down the number of pet euthanized each year and I don't hear much discussion regarding its importance. I wonder if there has been ongoing discussion with the vets in the area as to their contribution to the cause in the way of services for spaying and neutering, I am sure I am somewhat re-inventing the wheel, however, it might bear repeating. Perhaps the vets could give us a special price and write the rest off at tax time as a loss or a donation and Smithgall can incorporate the cost into the adoption fee.
I would like to be educated as to what has been practice so far and where the group feels it will go in the future to reduce unwanted pet population.
Thanks for educating me with your replies.
Susan Collins
