Hi - welcome to our forum!  This is the place for pet lovers to meet and discuss tips on pet care, or just talk about how great they are!  It's also a place to post messages about our humane society, fund raisers, and other related info.  Volunteers can chat about ideas to improve things, ways to help, or whatever you wish!

The rules of the forum are simple:   Keep it clean, keep it nice, and keep it about animals!  Administrator, management and board of directors reserves the right to remove any posts that are inflammatory, off-topic (like where to shop for tomatoes), or inappropriate.

Ok - Let's talk!

Message Ideas for Private Fund Raisers was posted by Polly Ann, on 11/16/2009 12:43:49 AM.

We need YOUR help to raise funds for the humane society! Becoming a MEMBER is our quickest way for new revenue, so pleast consider that if you haven't already joined. In addition to humane society sponsored functions, having a private fund raiser for the humane society is a greatly needed and QUICK way to raise funds to help keep the adoption center open! Below are some things people have done in the past, or suggested for fund raisers. These need not be approved by the humane society - just raise some dough and donate... And THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
Feel free to post and add some more ideas!

1. Personal Yard Sale or Community Yard Sale
2. Bake Sale
3. Car Wash (just knock on doors in your neighborhood and ask - or arrange one at your church after service!)
4. Sell used items on ebay for cash
5. Wine and cheese party - you sponsor with guest invitations stating the purpose of the fund raiser, either taking donations or setting a price/person
6. Collect at your office, church or social group
7. Put up signs in your office/work and set out a donation jar to collect. NOTE: You must notate on the collection that you are doing this INDEPENDENTLY, so as to not confuse people with official humane society donation canisters that are out. Also, it keeps responsibility of the money to the individual, so anyone can't just put out a can, call it humane society donations, and keep the money.
8. Private dinner parties where guests pay per plate.
